Week 3 Of Planning

Hey lovelies! We're back with another Planning Post which its officially Week 3 of the plan so far. This week has been a little quiet as we've all been busy but here it goes!

Found A Solicitor // One of our biggest stresses are officially gone and that was to find a solicitor but now we officially have one and it's a huge weight off all of our shoulders. We decided to go with a solicitor that was based in the USA as he or she would know more about the system over there.

New People // We officially have the last people that we need now! We are 100% sure that people that are a part of this now, will be a part of it until we leave! We have 6 amazing girlies coming on this adventure with us.

Our YouTube // We have finally set up our YouTube Los Angeles Squad where we will be uploading video diaries and much more for you all! You can keep track of our progress on the channel and the blog.

Skype Sessions // These have been a small bit of a problem this week since everyone has been busy with work, college and just life in general. From this week onwards we are hoping to do two skype sessions a week.

That has been the 3rd week of planning!

898 Days Away 😜🎉

Hey lovelies! We can't honestly believe that the move is 898 Days Away already - we've been counting down since 1,000 Days so it's crazy to be in the next hundreds!

It's literally crazy to think that we are now 2 years & 4 months away from moving to California. When we started planning and wanting to do this it was exactly around 3 years away - we've come 8 months down the line now & are even more excited now than ever.

Since we have new people a part of the team - some of us know each other better so this is the main thing which from today will be going ahead. We all are going to start to Get To Know Eachother as we need to know the people that we're living with for the fact or moving thousands of miles away with them.

I think that's the main problem with everyone though ' Getting To Know Eachother ' because some people are finding it hard to open up and talk a lot but it's a problem that we're going have to fix. Some of us do Skype and Oovoo but we'll have to get the other girls involved.

With the fact that it's 898 Days Away, As we said before the Visa applications need to start - which we're going to start in November now by meeting our Solicitors to see what's the best way to approach this as. Visa's are most likely the most stressful and complicated process out of this whole process.

Even though we have reached some negatives and a lot of positives at the moment, we are working through them and getting on with it - as its something that we all want. It's either everyone's going to have to do work or it's just not going to work.

Let us know in the comments below if you've done a love like this before and how it went for you!

Week 2 of Planning ✌🏼️

Hey lovelies! We are officially finished the Second Week of Planning or Week 2 of Planning - we've done a lot this week, some positive and negative! As we said at the beginning - we want to show you both sides of the move.

Dropping Out // During this week we had two people drop out for two totally different reasons - Cerys and Beth. We all wish them the best with they're future!

New People // We have two new people taking up the two girls spots - Gerogina and Chloe. We are glad to have them on the team and to have them on this amazing journey with us.

Booklets // I have sent out 3 out of the 8 booklets that I've done! The people that have received them - said they are amazing and it's a good thing to have. I will be sending out the rest in the coming week.

Getting To Know Each Other // This seems to be the hardest bit as people are afraid to talk and not everyone is on at the same time. I'm hoping that we'll figure something out sooner than later to be honest.

House Hunting // We have already started to look at the housing market in Los Angeles - I swear it's all different with the prices and it's crazy. A smaller house can be more expensive than a bigger house with the same amount of bedrooms and all that kind of stuff.

Solicitors // We've been in touch with a number of different solicitors and we'll be sorting out meeting them and starting out visa application as soon as possible.

So that has been the second week of planning. This journey will be stressful and time consuming but it'll be 100% worth it.

What would be your plan be when your moving?!

My LA Bucket List

Hey lovelies! This is a personal post of my own { Bekah } and I thought that I would do My Los Angeles Bucket List which is what I would love to get done while I'm living there and even at the moment - but obviously won't even happen until we move there as I want to save my cash for the move!

Runyon Canyon // Now this is one of the main things that I need to do. Within the first month of being in Los Angeles, I want to be able to go from the bottom to the top and back down in a reasonable amount of time without being half dead, as such.

Go To A Dodgers Game // This is something that everyone should do whether your living in Los Angeles or just visiting. Baseball is a huge American Sport and it would be good for me to embrace the American Lifestyle.

Audience for a TV Show // Now where else would you be able to do this? There are so many different TV Shows that get filmed in Los Angeles are always looking for audience members. I'm going to make it my own goal, to get onto an audience!

Go To A Red Carpet // Awards season and Movie premieres in Los Angeles are one of the bigger events that happen in the city. They are literally always packed but if you find the right contacts, you should be fine.

Los Angeles Sunset // Even if its just once, I want to be up on the hills when the sun is setting as I've seen pictures and I would love to experience it for myself!

The Farmers Market // The Los Angeles Farmers Market is supposed to be one of the best in the world - so I cannot wait to go and see what it has to hold!

Let us know in the comments below - what would be on your Los Angeles Bucket List?

Why Los Angeles?!

Hey lovelies! Back with another post but this time it's all about Why Los Angeles?! It's going to be all about why we've picked Los Angeles. Hope you enjoy this!

New Life & Adventures // The fact of a new life is pretty exciting factor and it's the main thing that's keeping us going. We'll also have plenty of new adventures around the United States of America.

Opportunities // The amount of opportunities that are around the Los Angeles area is crazy for what some of us wants to do - eg blogging and YouTube.

Weather // The weather in Los Angeles compared to Ireland and the U.K. Is crazy and it's something that we cannot wait for. Los Angeles only has 2 seasons every year so it's a massive difference.

Work // This is a massive factor in Los Angeles. If Los Angeles was a country it would have a bigger economy compared to Saudi Abria, so the economy is booming!

That's most of the reasons why we want to move to Los Angeles. Let us know in the comments below - why you moved to the place you are now?

A Booklet?!?

Hey lovelies! We are back with another planning post as such, which I thought might be an interesting post for you all. I'm in the process of doing A Booklet for all the girls - so this post is all on why I'm doing it and what's going into it.

Why? // I've done this booklet so everyone knows what's going to happen and all that kind of stuff. It's just pretty useful to have all the information in one spot rather than going to look for them online the whole time.

What's Going Into The Booklet?

All About Los Angeles // I have just put all of the basics into the booklet like eg - Population, A Bit of History and Facts About Los Angeles that I thought were useful and funny.

Averages // The averages that I've included in the booklet is - Temperatures, Sea Temperatures and Rainfall. I thought this was pretty interesting to see how different the climate is over there.

Moving & Packing Checklist // These are two of the things that will be the same for everyone, so it's good that it's done up early so the girls know what needs to be done and by when.

Los Angeles Districts // These have been added in because we are going to be looking at a lot of different districts to live in - I've added 10 to 15 districts to the list.

House Essentials and Pricing List // I've added all the house essentials that we need and an estimate pricing list for everybody & per person. Everything is either from IKEA or Target.

Saving Records // I've added an easy way of keeping track of savings  for everyone & it's pretty handy to keep an  eye of the savings.

Wildlife // I've added this in because there's a whole different range of animals in Los Angeles compared to the United Kingdom and Ireland. There are a lot of snakes but only one or two are dangerous to humans. I have written beside each one which ones are dangerous, could be dangerous, non venomous and venomous.

Personal To Do List // This is just an extra thing I've decided to added that people can do their own to do list if they wanted too.

Flight Prices // I've been keeping an eye on flight prices recently on a number of different aiports so I added this all in so people know how much flight prices are.

Shipping Companies // I've also added shipping companies details from Ireland and the U.K. The shipping companies obviously ship to the USA and is most likely going over by boat and then airplane.

Contact Details // The contact details I have included are all the emergency details, doctors and dentists numbers & every other numbers that we'll need.

This is just a little taster of what I've put into the booklet.

Let me know in the comments below   If you think that it's a good idea to do a booklet.

What We've Learned About LA From The Internet ✌🏼️

Hey lovelies! Taking a break from the planning posts today but this post is all about What We've Learned About Los Angeles From The Internet - which is all from blogs and other websites!

Traffic // We have learned that the traffic in Los Angeles is terrible. If we want to go anywhere that we should give ourselves 90 minutes extra of travel time and not to drive before 10am or after 3pm as that's when rush hour is.

2 Seasons // Los Angeles, normally just has two seasons where it's normally really warm or really told but for most of the year you can just wear summery clothes.

Non Casual // Los Angeles is a pretty non casual city in the work place. People Normaly just wear jeans and all into work.

Earthquakes // We know that Los Angeles is on the San Adreas fault and that they have a lot of earthquakes but most of them you can't feel.

Animals // We also know that there are a tone of snakes and animals that I can kill us in Los Angeles but there are also a load of cute ones too!

Expensive // From looking at the housing market and prices of everything - Los Angeles definitely doesn't do cheap at all. Everything is expensive.

Let us know in the comments below, any facts about where you live!

The First Week of Planning 🙈

Hey lovelies! We are just coming up to the end of the first week of planning. I know that we're massively ahead on the planning scene but we want to be organised!

Estimate Costs // We have done the estimated cost for furniture and the house essentials per person. It's definitely not as bad as we thought it was going to be.

Picked A Date // We have also officially said that the 16th of March 2018 will be the official date that we move but as we said before, some of us will be heading off earlier.

Visas // Now we did a lot of research on this so now we've decided that we are all going to get a solicitor involved in our visa applications - it's our best chance of getting them. We all just need to book an appointment with our own.

Los Angeles Life // We've done a lot of research on LA life as such. We currently have the following done - traffic conditions, earthquake information, emergency numbers, doctors and dental numbers, average temperatures & rainfall and much more.

Flights // We are keeping track on flight prices around the time we want to head over as obviously we want to know when it's the cheapest to fly so we can save money etc. We will be flying into LAX & we're looking at flights from Dublin, London Gatwick and Bristol Airports as they are close to everyone.

Housing Prices // We've been looking at houses prices all around the city of Los Angeles that are for sale & rent, just to get a jist of the prices. The main problem with looking at them now the market could either decrease or increase by the time we need one but it's a good idea to have an idea of the prices.

Oovooing // Most of us have been oovooing a lot to get to know each other and to have " meetings " as such. We will be continuing to use oovoo as its the best way for us to communicate with each other efficiently.

Let us know in the comments below, what do you think is the hardest bit of moving?!

Worries, Excitement and More 😌

Hey lovelies! We're back with another post which is all about the Worries, Excitement and More. Hopefully this post will show you all of what we want too!

Worries // Now everyone has massive worries when they move away from home even if it's only a few minutes away but we're all moving half way across the world so there will be plenty of worries.

One of the main worries has to be The Visa's - if you don't know America it's pretty hard to get a visa unless your a skilled worker or have money to support yourself. For this worry we are going to be getting a solicitor involved to help us get our visa's.

The next worry would have to be Leaving Family. This is another major one because we're all quiet young so leaving family is scary but everyone has to fly the nest at some stage and we can always visit.

The last worry that we're all probably having is Everyone Getting On - this is so important because we'll all be living with each other and having to deal with each other everyday! We'll be hanging out before we head away plenty of times to make sure everyone gets on!

Excitement // There will be plenty of excitment with the move with us 8 being a giddy bunch of people. We are even excited at the moment and it's two years and 5 months away nearly!

One of the main exciting reasons would be A New Life - this is the major excitment of mine. This new life will be totally different to my current life in Ireland but it'll be exciting to live in someone else's culture.

The next exciting reason would have to be Our Own House - we all will finally have our own space and house without our parents rules and will be able to do whatever we want to, within reason.

Another exciting reason would have to be The Weather - Los Angeles doesn't really have a Winter so it's nearly Summer all year round, which is so different to Ireland and the U.K.

We are all amazed that you all are sticking by us through our journey and I'm sure there will be plenty of ups and downs but we'll get through them all.

Let us know in the comments below - what is your biggest worries when moving away from home?

The Plan #1 😌

Hey lovelies! This post is going to be all about the plan and the steps we'll have to go through to get to Los Angeles! This is just the way that we're doing things, not saying it's right or wrong but it's our way!

Saving // This started as soon as we decided that we were going to move. It's only small savings at the start but every little bit helps. We'll be upping the savings in the next few months.

Pick A Date // We wanted to pick a date where flights ain't that dear and where the weather isn't too hot so we can climatise to the heat. We have currently picked 16th of March 2018.

Visas // We will be applying for VISAS as soon as possible in the next year depending on what type of visas we're going for. We'll be going for the Lottery and then the Migration Visa - which is based on an interview in the U.S. embassy.
• We know that it can be hard to get one so hence why we're applying as soon as possible •

Telling Parents // Some of the girls need to tell their parents and family which is a main part but everyone is 18+ so they can make up their own decisions and it's a once in a life time opportunity.

Areas // We are going to do research on each of the different areas around Los Angeles so we can pick the best part to live in. We're not fussy for the first year or two as we just want to be able to stand on our two feet without being in debt.

Costs ( Once Off ) // First we going to look at the once off costs which includes - flights over to the U.S., Visas, Shipping Costs, Mortage Payment Upfront or Rent Deposit and Furniture & Electronics.

Costs ( Reccuring ) // These are costs which are going to be happening all the time which includes - Bills, Rent or Mortage, Food, Petrol/Diseal and whatever else!

Flight Prices // We are currently looking at flights between March to May as they seem to be the cheapest. These flights will be checked every week from the following - Dublin, Bristol, London Gatwick, London Heatrow and Glasgow. We are keeping an eye on SkyScanner for the flights.

Housing Market // We need to keep an eye on the housing market as it's going up and down the whole time over in the U.S.  We need a big enough house but we're only looking for a 4 bedroom so it'll be 4 people per room.

Once Visa's Are Approved // Once our visa's are approved we can get down to work on booking flights, sorting out accommodation, shipping and all that. No point in doing that all until we get our visa's.

Meet Ups // We'll also be planning a good few meet ups so everyone can get to know everyone properly and plan more in person. This is hard since 6 of us are in the UK and the other 2 are in Ireland.

House // Once we have the house picked and know what we're getting, we'll be sorting out the house bedrooms, decorating it, rules and much more. This is something that everyone has to agree on and everyone needs to be happy with everything.

This is literally just Part One of The Plan, I'm sure there will be more posts in the future.

Let us know in the comments below if you've ever done a big move like this? Or would you like too?
